Presentation Marking Guidelines
Peer-Marked
Please assign a mark between 1 and 5 for each of the following aspects of the presentation using the guidelines below. Do not mark your own presentation.
Your presentation will be assigned the mean of the marks assigned by your peers unless the instructor believes the result is clearly inaccurate.
Clarity
I understood:
- 5: Every. Word.
- 4: Most of it.
- 3: Maybe half of it?
- 2: A bit.
- 1: Almost nothing.
Purpose
- 5: I can't wait to try it out!
- 4: Sounds interesting.
- 3: OK... but why would I want to use it?
- 2: I'm not sure
- 1: I'm confused. I don't understand what it does or why I'd want to use it.
Examples
- 5: Hey, I could do that!
- 2: I'm not sure
- 3: I followed the general idea.
- 2: I couldn't really follow it.
- 1: I didn't understand what was going on.
Instructor-Marked
The instructor will assign marks for the following two items using the following guidelines.
Answers
- 5: I understood the answer to a reasonable question.
- 4: I think they answered the question.
- 3: Something went very wrong (misunderstood question, wrong answer,...).
- 2: They invented an answer and it was wrong.
- 1: They obviously didn't understand the material they were presenting.
Timing
- 5: They finished in time (<10 minutes).
- 3: It was a bit long but they finished (between 10 and 12 minutes).
- 1: They were cut off and didn't finish (>12 minutes).
